New Roofs
New tiled, slate and flat roofs, re-roofs and full replacements.
A new roof is the biggest single job on most homes, so it pays to get it right once. We strip, re-felt, batten and re-cover in clay and concrete tile, natural slate and modern flat-roof systems, finishing every ridge, verge and flashing so the roof stays watertight for decades.

What the job involves
Every re-roof starts by stripping the old covering back and checking the timbers underneath. We replace any rotten battens or rafters, lay a modern breathable membrane so the roof space can vent, and re-batten to the correct gauge for your covering.
The details are what make a roof last. We bed and point the ridge, close the verges, dress the valleys and renew the lead flashings around chimneys and abutments, so water is guided off the roof rather than sitting on it.

- Clay tile, concrete tile, natural slate or a flat-roof system to your choice

The new roofs we take on
Everything we handle as part of your new roofs, from first survey to final tidy-up.
Tiled Roofing
Clay tiles give a roof strength and durability that outlasts almost every other covering — plenty of plain clay roofs are still standing in pristine condition after more than a hundred years.
Because the colour comes from naturally burnt clay it never washes out; the roof only mellows and improves as it ages.
Above all, the case for clay is the look: a range of natural burnt tones from red through brown to blue that artificial colouring can imitate but never truly reproduce, and never with the same permanence.

Slate Roofing
Unlike most roofing materials, slate is completely fireproof — one of the reasons a slate roof is worth the investment.
It is naturally weather-resistant too: fully waterproof and able to shrug off severe weather, high winds, heavy snow and driving rain, which makes it ideal for exposed and colder settings.
Laid properly, a slate roof protects a period or character home for generations.

Flat Roofs
A flat roof is quicker and easier to install, and it usually costs less to maintain and repair over its lifespan.
It also puts the roof to work: air-conditioning units can sit up on the roof rather than taking up space on the ground, and where solar is added, flat-roof racking is far less visible from the street than panels on a sloped roof.

New Roofs questions
How long does a re-roof take?
A typical terraced or semi-detached re-roof takes around one to two weeks, weather permitting. We give you a realistic timescale with your quote.Concrete tile, natural slate or a flat roof, which should I choose?
It depends on the property and the roof. Concrete tiles are hard-wearing and cost less, natural slate lasts longest and suits period homes, and flat systems suit extensions and dormers. We talk you through what fits your home and budget. Will you match my existing tiles?
For a partial re-roof we do our best to match the profile and colour. For a full re-roof you can choose a fresh covering across the whole roof.Do you provide the scaffolding for a new roof?
Yes. Safe scaffold access is part of the job and is included in your written quote, so there is nothing extra for you to arrange. Is a new roof guaranteed?
Yes. All of our work is guaranteed, and we walk the finished roof with you before we clear the site and sign off.
